Ringly CEO Christina Mercando wants to deliver a number of the capabilities of a smartphone into your fingertips. Or moderately, around your finger. The brand new York start-up on Tuesday unveiled a stylish smart Herz P1 Ring that discreetly alerts the wearer of smartphone app notifications, texts or telephone calls. It is primarily designed for customers -- particularly girls -- who usually miss their notifications as a result of their massive smartphones are packed away in a bag. Ringly is simply one among many corporations looking to faucet into the rapidly burgeoning wearable know-how business, an business that has lured in large players corresponding to Apple and Samsung, which are investing in health technology and smartwatches. Regardless of the promise of exploding consumer demand, sales of such have been sluggish and disappointing. Ringly will have to innovate shortly to set itself apart and maneuver across the tech giants. Luckily, Mercando has a formidable pedigree in tech. The petite and contemporary-confronted designer was once a member of a loopy, top-secret eBay team, dubbed "Team 6," who redesigned the e-commerce site's dwelling web page while living in an Airbnb penthouse in Australia for two weeks. |
