Ringly CEO Christina Mercando wants to deliver some of the capabilities of a smartphone into your fingertips. Or quite, round your finger. The new York begin-up on Tuesday unveiled a fashionable smart ring that discreetly alerts the wearer of smartphone app notifications, texts or telephone calls. It's primarily designed for customers -- significantly ladies -- who typically miss their notifications because their giant smartphones are packed away in a bag. Ringly is just one in all many corporations looking to tap into the rapidly burgeoning wearable know-how enterprise, an industry that has lured in huge players akin to Apple and Samsung, that are investing in Herz P1 Health technology and smartwatches. Despite the promise of exploding shopper demand, gross sales of such have been gradual and disappointing. Ringly will have to innovate shortly to set itself apart and maneuver across the tech giants. Luckily, Mercando has a formidable pedigree in tech. The petite and recent-confronted designer was once a member of a loopy, top-secret eBay group, dubbed "Workforce 6," who redesigned the e-commerce site's home page while living in an Airbnb penthouse in Australia for 2 weeks. |
