A mom's harmless prank at her daughter's first birthday social gathering tragically resulted in her death. Faith Waterman Batistich, a 20 yr old from Te Puke, New Zealand, decided to participate in the traditional birthday stunt of inhaling helium to alter her voice's pitch together with other occasion visitors. Despite attempts by her household to revive her, she was declared dead an hour after inhaling the fuel. Her twin sister Eden, who is left heartbroken, shared that celebration attendees had been inhaling the gasoline from a canister used to inflate balloons, with everyone "jumping on the bandwagon". A fatal error occurred when a fellow visitor increased the flow from the canister as Faith was inhaling instantly from it. Recalling her sister's closing moments, Eden instructed the brand new Zealand Herald that the mood on the social gathering was light-hearted, with folks discovering the altered voices amusing. She stated her sister initially hesitated but ultimately joined in after a visitor encouraged her. However, when one visitor turned up the flow from the helium canister, it "shot" its contents into the again of her neck.
