Individually, she received the gold medals on the vault and ground exercise. In November, Mitchell competed on the Stuttgart World Cup and received the gold medal on the flooring exercise, stability beam, and uneven bars, making her the primary Australian gymnast to win three gold medals at a single World Cup event. She was a member of the Russian team that received gold at the European Championships, and she completed fourth in the vault final. Dementyeva competed at the 2008 Junior European Championships in Clermont-Ferrand, France, winning the gold medal with the Russian group. In August, Akhaimova competed on the Russian Cup. After the Olympics, she competed on the Toyota International the place she completed fourth on the uneven bars and seventh on the steadiness beam.
